One thing I miss since being dairy-free is chocolate milk! I love the creamy, chocolatey, icey cold, deliciousness of chocolate milk (I know that sentence is not accurate lol). I have been trying to find a simple yet healthy way to make my own chocolate milk without having to buy a processed, high-sugary chocolate syrup, or have to make my own chocolate syrup that doesn’t last very long or takes too much time to make. Keep it simple, is my motto! The simpler the recipe, with the least amount of ingredients are the recipes I love to make.
I wanted a way to make just one glass of ice cold chocolate “milk” that I could enjoy right away and I finally found a way to do it! So excited!! Chocolate Craving in the bag!!
Here’s this ridiculously easy, yet healthy recipe:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk (I love Califia Farms brand)
- 1 TBSP non-alkaline cocoa powder (I love using raw Cacao Powder too)
- 1/2 TBSP coconut oil
- 1-2 Medjool Dates (depending on how sweet you want it…I used 2 and that was plenty sweet enough…might try 1 next time)
- 2 ice cubes (optional)
Blend in a high-powered blender, pour and enjoy and satisfy that chocolate “milk” craving of yours!
This is a quick, and healthy recipe that’s full of antioxidants from the cocoa powder, healthy fats from the coconut oil and fiber from the Medjool Dates. And the best part, is that it doesn’t taste healthy at all!
Stay Healthy my Friends!
