Healthy Habits for a Healthy New Year

Happy New Year! This is the time of year when a lot of people make New Year’s Resolutions, but I would rather make Healthy Habits to stick to throughout the year. Here are my top Healthy Habits that I’m working on:

Hydration:

Is drinking enough water a healthy habit that you are working on this year? Hydration is important for all aspects of having healthy bodies and minds.
Everly is my favorite way to flavor water without any sugar or artificial ingredients. The coloring comes from vegetables too!
They have flavors with or without energy. The one with energy is a natural energy from green coffee bean extract.
If you would like to try these Everly gave me a discount code to share with you all: CARRIE15 for 15%.

Natural Skincare:

It’s just as important to put natural products on our bodies as it is in our bodies. I’m slowly switching all my skincare, hair care and makeup over to natural products and FRE Skincare is my newest obsession! From their FRE123 Set to their Detox Me Mask to their Glow Me Tinted Moisturizer, FRE has got all my skincare needs covered! (now if they only had a body wash and body lotion!)

Yoga & Fitness:

Daily exercise and yoga is my daily healthy habit that I know can be a struggle for many to get into the habit of doing. I recommend to all my clients, friends and family, to start out by just walking every day and doing a short 15-20 minute yoga video before bed. When you have long working hours, kids and other life responsibilities I know it’s hard to make time for yourself, but if you aren’t healthy then it’s hard to be their for those that need you.  They just said on the news this morning too that people who exercise on a consistent and regular basis live longer, are healthier and even maintain their muscle mass as they age.  Dumbbell workouts are my favorite, but find something that you enjoy and will be able to stick with on a consistent basis. ProSource is my go-to source for all my workout gear. They have great options for beginners to advanced fitness enthusiasts.

Consistent Supplementation:

I know that I don’t always eat the best, and I know that sometimes I let stress get the best of me, which is why I always supplement my diet with the highest quality vitamins, minerals, & other dietary supplements that I might need at the time. Here are my top supplements that I use (and want to continue to use consistently this year) on a daily basis:
On the counter so they are easily remembered.
Gundry Wellness products like Prebiothrive (which got rid of my bloating) and helps keep my digestive health going strong. Right now you can get 35% off EVERYTHING in Dr. Gundry’s store with code: CHEERS (until January 7th, 2019).
Physician Grade Supplements from Physician’s Choice like my favorite product: Collagen (which helps hair, skin, nails, joints & even muscle building). They also have other fantastic high quality products like, Turmeric, Probiotics, Eye Health, etc.. As an Ambassador with Physician’s Choice I can offer a 20% discount to all my followers: CARG20.

Stress Relief:

Most people don’t notice when I’m stressed because I hide it well and when I’m working with clients I feel it’s necessary to stay positive and not let my stress have an effect on them, so when I do get stressed I turn on oldies music and sing my heart out! I also know that technology can stress me out so I’ve learned to cut back on my hours spent on the computer and mobile devices. As an entrepreneur it can be so easy to get sucked into spending hours online, so I set time limits for myself. Letting stress build up can have a negative effect on your mind and body, so it’s good to keep it in check. How do you handle your stress?

Organic Wine:

Ok, I know that wine isn’t technically a healthy habit, but it is for me. Wine can be a part of a healthy diet when consumed in moderation. I enjoy a glass of red wine with dinner and have been wanting to find and switch my wines to organic. I eat about 90% organic, so my wine should be organic too. Wine can be filled with toxic pesticides just like our foods, and since I drink wine frequently, it only makes sense to go organic with it. I recently found a really reasonably priced red organic wine at my local liquor store and I love it! I’ve looked into organic wines that you can buy online but most of them are way too expensive for my budget. Have you found any organic wines that you like and are affordable?

Vegetables:

Of course eating as many vegetables as I can is something I’m always working on and will continue working on. Adding frozen spinach to morning post-workout shake, making cauliflower rice to serve with my salmon and even switching to zucchini lentil pasta at dinner are all easy ways for me to eat more vegetables.
What are your healthy habits that you’re working on this year?
