Flavorful Friday: Greek Style Plain Yoghurt from Fiddle Creek Dairy

I don’t eat much dairy, but on occasion I love to have some Greek Yogurt. When I do eat Greek Yogurt I like to buy local, full fat yogurt from grass-fed cows.

I found a product at my grocery store that carries a local brand called Fiddle Creek Dairy. They are located in Quarryville, PA and have the best tasting Greek Style Yogurt I have ever had! It’s from grass-fed, all natural Jersey cow milk. Ingredients are so simple, just pasteurized whole milk and live, active cultures! That’s it! No sugar added! Because it is made with whole milk it doesn’t need any sugar added to it! I love to just eat a few spoonfuls right out of the glass jar! Sometimes I will add blueberries and walnuts to it but it’s so delicious just on it’s own.

I know it’s not always convenient or easy to find local products in some areas, but I encourage everyone to try and find a dairy or farm that makes and sells their own yogurts and cheese products. Lots of farms even sell local grass-fed beef which is so much better for you and is better for the environment when you buy local.

Here is a great website to help you find local farms (even CSA’s and Farmers Markets) in your area: Local Harvest

If you live in PA like me, this is a great website to find local farms: Buy Local PA

I even buy my eggs from a local Amish farm every week.

What local finds have you found in your area?
