Last weekend we went to the beach for Easter weekend to visit my Grandma and had such a fun time! Grandma and I have always had a passion for the beach and now she is living her dream of living at the beach. We had such fun visiting a local brewery, walking the beach and I got to practice my yoga on the beach which made me very happy!
I always take food with us when we go to the beach. It’s a way for us to keep eating healthy, saves money and makes us feel better overall. I try not to take a whole lot of food because Grandma’s refrigerator is always full, so I prepare as much as I can before we leave. One easy item I have started taking with us is overnight oats. I prepare them before we leave and just take the jars already made up.
I recently found a product called Qi’a by Nature’s Path Organic. Qi’a is an oatmeal made with gluten-free rolled oats, chia, hemp and buckwheat to boost your nutrition, keep you feeling full longer and provide long lasting energy. I love the convenience of these packets and that they don’t sacrifice healthy ingredients just to make them convenient like most processed food products.
I made overnight oats with these using Califia Unsweetened Vanilla Almond milk, organic almond butter, a touch of maple syrup, and some raspberries. So yummy! Sorry I don’t have a picture of my overnight oats as they didn’t look very pretty for picture-taking.
I love that these are organic, gluten-free, wheat-free and only 1g of sugar. I purchased the Creamy Coconut and I love the slightly sweet flavor the coconut adds.
What’s really nice is that on the side of the box they offer a variety of ways to make your Qi’a like with a kettle, in the microwave, or overnight oats like I did.
Have you found a healthy, yet convenient food that you love? Please do share with me!
XO,
Carrie A Groff
